     Characterization is a literary device that is used step by step in literature to highlight and explain the details about a character in a story. It is also the way in which authors convey information about their characters. Characterization can be direct, as when an author tells readers what a character is like or indirect, as when an author shows what a character is like by portraying his or her actions, speech, or thoughts. Descriptions of a character's appearance, behavior, interests, way of speaking, and the other attitudes are all part of characterization. Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle (Arthur C Doyle), was born on May 22,1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland and Died on July 7,1930 (Age 71) in Crowborough, England. He was an Author, Writer, and Physician or Doctor. There is one short story by Arthur C Doyle, entitled My Friend The Murderer. This story tells about one of the famous prisoners, he is the famous leader of the Bluemansdyke gang named Maloney. My Friend The Murderer at the beginning of the story there are two people who are talking, they are Head Warder and a Doctor. They talked about the prisoners to be examined by the doctor. There is one prisoner where the doctor should listen to the prisoner's story to ascertain whether he is crazy or just paranoid. INTRODUCTION      Wolf Tone Maloney is one of the characters in the short story My Friend, The Murderer by Sir Conan Doyle. The tale tells the story of Maloney’s trials and journey after he was arrested for robbery. He was described in the passage “had at least some distinctiveness and individuality in his character, and might act as a tonic to a mind sick of the commonplace of existence” (Doyle, 1882:6)      He was first introduced in the story in the setting of a prison, where a doctor was doing a routine check of the inmates. Because the doctor knew the name of the inmate, he was immediately intrigued to make acquaintance. There we found that Maloney was famous for selling his friends to the state evidence. She had to crossed the large river every morning by a raft. She was a good teacher, she never comment in whatever the situation,  rain or sunny she always came to taught her children. Desiree is an adopted by Madame Valmonde he found her lying in the shadow of the big stone pillar in Louisiana and tookcare of her. But people said that the baby probably is partly of Texas but she don’t care about his origin. She just hope the baby grew to be beautiful and gentle. In this time the different race is the disgusting things because of the black skin always be a slaves.   When Desiree   was eighteen years old she married with Armand Aubigny, he fallen in loved when he saw Desiree standing in stone pillar where is the place she found.
